Michelle E. Ziegler, DDS, FSCDA, is an Associate Professor and Director of Special Care Dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, where she directs the Pamela Kaminski Clinic for Adults with Special Health Care Needs. Throughout her career, Dr. Ziegler has been dedicated to improving access to oral healthcare for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and educating future healthcare professionals to provide compassionate, inclusive care.
Dr. Ziegler has served as Faculty Advisor for the MUSC AADMD Student/Resident Chapter for the past 10 years. Under her leadership, the chapter expanded last year beyond the College of Dental Medicine to welcome students from all MUSC colleges, creating an interdisciplinary chapter that more closely reflects the national AADMD Student/Resident Chapter (SRC) model.
Dr. Ziegler has served on the AADMD Board of Directors for the past two years and is excited to continue her service to the Board in her new role as SRC Faculty Advisor. She looks forward to supporting existing chapters, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, and helping expand student and resident engagement in AADMD nationwide.
