Students in many health-related fields receive little to no training for patients with IDD.

We want to change that.

 Our Purpose

  1. To create a forum in which training healthcare professionals may exchange experiences and ideas with regard to caring for patients with IDD.

  2. To establish alliances between visionary advocacy and healthcare organizations for the primary purpose of achieving better healthcare.

  3. To create a space for mentorship and exchange of knowledge/experience between seasoned IDD providers, entry-level clinicians, and future healthcare providers in training.

  4. To promote awareness about the need of early professional training of caring for those with IDD.

Connect with a local AADMD student chapter or start one on your campus today.

[The fact] that our motivated trainees are ready to share their knowledge, skills, and attitudes so exuberantly says to me that our efforts are paying off, with interest!
