Sukyung Moon, DDS, MS, PhD

Sukyung Moon, DDS, MS, PhD, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Special Care Dentistry at the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. Her work brings together clinical care, academic research, education, and health policy, with a focus on improving oral health outcomes for vulnerable and underserved populations.

Dr. Moon’s areas of expertise include special care dentistry, geriatric dentistry, access to care, and health policy. Her clinical and research interests center on addressing barriers to oral healthcare and improving access for individuals with physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities, older adults, and other populations with complex healthcare needs.

As a faculty member at the ECU School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Moon contributes to the education and training of future dental professionals while advancing research and policy initiatives aimed at creating more accessible and equitable systems of oral healthcare.
