Nominations are now being accepted for the 2010 AADMD "DDNA Nurse of the Year Award."
This award is given annually to the outstanding DDNA nurse of the year. The trophies are unique pieces and are never duplicated. AADMD members are encouraged to submit their nominations (and justification) of the nurse that best exemplifies the goals and mission of the DDNA. The nurse needs to be an active member of the DDNA, but does not need to be certified.

The detection of cognitive decline, dementia and Alzheimer's Disease remains a key clinical challenge in the field of developmental medicine. This article from the Journal of Neurology addresses some of the early signs in the mainstream population. We are presenting this strictly for the purpose of elucidating you with the possibility that some of this may be applicable in our ID/DD population. We are not suggesting that these signs are applicable to patients with ID/DD.
